This London Street Photography Workshop is suitable for photographers at all levels including beginners.

Unlike a traditional workshop with a fixed agenda, our learning is bespoke to the small group of 6. We start the day over a coffee and discuss where attendees are, what they’d like to achieve long term and what they’d like to achieve on the day.

The small group will be led by multi award winning photographer Simon Ellingworth and he will share his favourite London locations in the area.

This workshop starts at 6:00pm to allow attendees to use off peak travel and near Piccadilly Circus, ending at 9pm in the same location.

We start the day over a coffee and discuss where attendees are, what they’d like to achieve long term and what they’d like to achieve on the night.

During the initial briefing you will learn techniques to enable you to:

  • Compose quicker
  • To craft more creative and compelling compositions
  • To work faster to get every opportunity
  • To shoot through moments to get more keepers
  • To slow down and really start to read the street
  • Rethink street photography in very simple terms

We will discuss how to approach each location, overall vision, composition, perspective, etc and explore techniques including hand held longer exposure.

You will have the opportunity to explore each location and shoot under the watchful eye of Simon.

This is a low light evening practical workshop with lots of one to one attention and shooting time which will push you beyond your current skill base.

Experts Credentials:

I’m Simon Ellingworth a full time photography educator & one to one mentor, with over a decades experience creating and delivering eduction for The Royal Photographic Society, I  specialise in street, black and white photograph, composition, gestalt theory available light portraiture.

With 35 x International photography awards (9 in the last 12 months) including 3 x ‘Fine Art Photo Awards 2025’, 6 x ‘Mono Vision Awards’, 3 x ‘Monochrome Awards’, and recently, 1st place in the highly contested ‘2024 International Photography Awards’ in the professional category; selected from 14,000 entries from more than 100 countries.

During my workshops I like to challenge people’s thinking, change the way they see the world, and provide technical liberation from their camera with simple new ways and techniques to craft compelling images through a lens.
